ABSTRACT

A yeast strain was isolated from the paper and pulp effluent and identified as Candida sp., which decolorized distillery effluent by 60 % within 4 days of incubation at 38C±1, pH 5.6. Further, this strain also reduced BOD & COD of the effluent by 78% and 60%, respectively
