Micromorphology of leaf of Nyctanthes arbor-tristis L.

ABSTRACT
Micromorphology of epidermis and cuticle of leaves of Nyctanthes arbor-tristis L. has been studied with scanning electron microscopy. The adaxial and abaxial surfaces of the hypostomatic leaf shows characteristic cuticular orientation. Trichomes are more numerous on its lower surface than on the upper surface. Peltate glandular trichomes with quadripartite shield and unicellular procumbent non-glandular trichomes are of common occurrence on both the surfaces.
