ABSTRACT

Indoor air pollution like outdoor pollution is physical, chemical and biological in nature.. Air being essential for all also refers to air quality as it relates to the health and comfort of the people indoors. Indoor air pollution is becoming increasingly a greater health hazard than outdoor pollution as people spend more time indoors. Fungi are a chief source of respiratory allergy in human beings. The present study was undertaken in the indoor environments of the College campus, and aimed at identifying and isolating the major fungal organisms there. A total of 10 fungal species and 3 genera were recorded in the present study. The most dominant fungi were Rhizopus stolonifer and Aspergillus niger
