ABSTRACT
The present study focusses on the alterations in enzyme kinetics of AChE in brain liver and kidney of Heteropneustes fossilis on exposure to detergents at different concentrations. Detergents in brain and liver showed non competitive inhibition while in kidney it showed competitive inhibition, thus detergent proved to be a mixed type of inhibitor with respect to enzyme kinetics of AChE in vital organs of Heteropneustes fossilis. Acetylcholinesterase is responsible for the hydrolysis of ACh into choline and acetic acid at neuromuscular junctions
