ABSTRACT

Tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum) belongs to the genus Lycopersicum under the Solanaceae family. Tomato is a fruit that is almost universally treated as a vegetable and a perennial plant that is almost universallytreated as an annual.Tomatois a well-known and verypopular vegetable grown successfully throughout India.Tomato is a highly nutritive vegetable which is a rich source of vitamins A, B and C. Tomato is a major vegetable crop that has achieved tremendous popularity over the last century. It is grown in practicallyevery country of the world - in outdoor fields, greenhouses, and net houses. Most of the farmers had a medium level of adoption ontomatocultivation.
