ABSTRACT
The world is slowly coming to terms with the use of plants as a better alternative for curing diseases. Ayurvedic medicine have been a part of ancient Indian culture since time immemorial and people today are slowly realizing the essence of curing properties present in almost all plants. As a result of which the interest is leading to more research activities towards plant-based healing, where researchers are developing great interest in the various phyto chemical activities of plants, also because it has lesser side effects and is probably more cost effective and affordable. Most of the plants have been studied to have great therapeutic potencies as a result of which plants today are widely used in pharmaceutical industries for treating diseases. The aim of this review is to study the pharmacological activity of Rumex nepalensis, one of the most widely available weed plant of Darjeeling Hills and its pharmacological potential.
