ABSTRACT

Water, like air, is an indispensable and precious natural resource on this planet. Water greatly impacts human livelihoods, including health, economy, food, energy, environment and social impacts. Sukhia Pokhari, a small town in the Darjeeling district of West Bengal, is bestowed with an intricate network of freshwater perennial torrential streams, which constitute an important source of drinking water. The present study aims to determine the acceptability of drinking water sources from Sukhia Pokhari.
