ABSTRACT
Microplastic MP pollution has become a pressing environmental issue, with particles smaller than 5000 μm now pervasive in both aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. Addressing this challenge, our study investigates microbial biodegradation as a sustainable and eco-friendly solution for MP remediation. Soil samples collected from household waste dump yards in Tirupattur district, Tamil Nadu, India, were used to isolate microorganisms capable of degrading MPs.
